![]() ![]() The Galaxy S21 Ultra, for example, has a better zoom system than both of these phones, but its main camera has a noticeable shutter lag, and the ultra-wide camera is below par at night. And extra modes such as Action Pan are quite fun to play with. I love the customized color accents, I love the horizon meter that pops up when my phone is off-axis, and the haptic vibration that kicks in when I get an even horizon. Google's camera app, on the other hand, is arguably my most favorite camera app ever in any smartphone. The camera app is littered with buttons and unnecessary modes, you can't switch lenses easily while filming, and the zoom dial is way too slippery (meaning if I want to zoom exactly 15x, I often have to spend a few seconds getting the zoom dial to stay at 15x instead of 15.1x or 14.8x). While I generally think Vivo's main camera captures better-looking images, particularly in low light or challenging lighting conditions, the overall camera experience on the Vivo X70 Pro Plus feels a bit stiff. This is a really close one, especially when one considers the fact that in their own vacuum, both the phones have excellent cameras that practically all users are going to love - and you really need to sit down, pixel peep tens and hundreds of photos side-by-side, and then nitpick faults to declare a "winner".
